Dirt and soil are easily seen on a hard surface and soon wipe off, but on carpet it can soon work its way deep into the fibers where the abrasive action will cause them to deteriorate and need replacing prematurely.

We use a cleaning system that deep cleans your carpets, flushing the dirt and pollutants from the fibers with self-neutralizing cleaning chemicals that are also non-toxic and bio-degradable, leaving your carpets clean and fresh again.

It is worth noting that virtually every carpet manufacturer recommends that their carpets are professionally cleaned every 12/24 months and some are now making it compulsory condition of their wear warranties.

The Importance of Carpet Protectors

Carpet manufacturers apply protectors at the factory to help your carpets stay cleaner longer. But, with foot traffic and vacuuming, this protection wears off over time. Having the protector reapplied helps slow down the formation of traffic patterns by allowing you to get more dirt out of your carpet with your vacuum cleaner. And it gives you extra time to clean up spills before they turn into stains.

Phoenix recommends and uses Dupont Teflon™ Carpet and Upholstery Protector. Reapplying protector helps restore protective properties to your carpet, helping to extend its life and making it easier to care for.

Emergencies Happen

If you do have an emergency just give us a call and we can talk you through many situations. If you can not reach us immediately consider the following steps as applicable:

Pet Waste or Vomit: Number one emergency situation. Try the following on synthetic carpet/area rug or wool rug.

Blot up all you can (Not rub)
Liberally apply WHITE vinegar.
Blot up all you can (Not rub)
Apply 3/4 - 1 inch covering of table salt over the area to 1 inch past the effected area.
Let stand for 24-48 hours until salt is completely dry.
Remove salt with shop vac or spatula.
Final vac with home vac.

Vacuuming

Regular vacuuming is perhaps the easiest and most dependable way to giving your carpet a longer life.

Here's a few tips to keep in mind when you're vacuuming at home or shopping for a new vacuum:

Choose a vacuum cleaner with dual motors, one for suction and the other for the beater bar that loosens dirt. (Canister vacuums and 'electric brooms' don't have a beater bar.)
Make sure your vacuum cleaner has adjustable and rotating brushes that can loosen ground-in soil, and a strong enough airflow to penetrate to the backing.
Make sure the filtration bag is enclosed and adequately limits particles from recirculating into the air.
